Ludlow Food Festival

Events & Food Festivals

Come and experience the delights of M'hencha at one of the fabulous Food and Drink events we attend!

Ludlow Food Festival

  • Ludlow Castle Ludlow Shropshire

The 2016 Ludlow Marches Food and Drink Festival will take place on 9th, 10th and 11th September in Ludlow, Shropshire, England, the small town with the large reputation for good food and drink.

The Festival will feature more than 180 top quality small independent food and drink producers from the Marches, the England-Wales border country, inside Ludlow Castle.

I WILL BE THERE ON THE FRIDAY ONLY

Flavours of North Africa 12 noon
To kick off our exciting programme of workshops we have an exploration of North African food in the capable hands of Marina Ibrahim and Sophie Browne. Marina shares dishes from her family and popular street food to include Egypt's national dish of Ful Medames, a dish which goes back to the pharaohs, and Ful Ta'amya, Egyptian falafel with flatbreads.
Sophie Browne specialises in Moroccan M'hencha, also known as 'snake cake'. There's no snake in it! The name refers to the attractively coiled shape of this pastry cake which is traditionally served at weddings and other celebrations. Sophie will present the traditional rose water and pistachio version and also one filled with dates and orange.
This workshop is suitable for vegetarians.

If you are unable to book online here email slowludlow@gmail.com or phone 01584 878398 for a booking form which must be returned with a cheque. We cannot take card payments over the phone.
